Very important information!
Thanks, Vic! I contacted Torqeedo by email, and they sent me a registration link that does work: https://www.torqeedo.com/us/en-us/service-centre/information-and-return-shipment/safety.html Vic Rioberts #2032 I received a recall notice today from Torqeedo by email. Apparently some of the Torqeedo Travel outboard battery compartments are not properly sealed, which can allow water to leak in. Since the batteries are made with lithium, which is highly reactive with water, this is an important issue. The batteries can explode if water comes in contact with lithium.
In case you use a Torqeedo and did not properly register your motor, I've attached the recall notice. The notice contains the serial numbers of batteries that may be at risk, along with a website to register for an inspection, and a telephone number to call at Torqeedo. (My battery is one of those that may not be properly sealed.)
Unfortunately the website given, www.torqeedo.com/safety redirects to the main Torqeedo website where I could not find any place to register my battery. In addition, the phone number given goes to a voice mailbox instead of a real person, but I was able to leave a message.
