Try a hose test. Could be portholes or any of the fittings that go through the deck or cabin top. Our was portholes, same as Bill Hawk and where we had brackets for a ladder to hook on.
With reference to ensign #1226 - we have a constant battle with water in the cabin particularly water accumulating on the edges of the seats.
We are pretty sure the water is not getting in via the hull / deck seal beneath the rub rail having completed extensive mitigation. Our only conclusion is that water is getting in via the chain plate tangs.
These tangs are currently sealed to the deck using a method advised by ensign sailors using
Butyl sealing tape placed between the deck and the little plates so that the tape squeezes out and above the plate. But this does not appear to create an adequate seal!
what advise is there out there to solve this problem to keep the cabin dry under most general use circumstances and avoid rotting in the seating structure??
