Need to convert to fixed gooseneck
If  the  the mast track is  damaged, maybe it would be possible to drill and tap several holes to fix the slug into place  permanently. maybe adding  a small plate for extra strength filling gaps with with thickened epoxy.   Of coarse a longer slug extending to good portions of the track might help,  or just call rig rite or Dwyer mast and write a check, bet ya seldon or ronstan might have stuff too

Ask Bob Conkey at Ensign Spars.  He has tons of new parts for any project.  No waiting.

The issue in at least some cases is that the side of the sail track groove is damaged/broken in the area where the gooseneck sits. Fastening a fixed gooseneck to the mast would overcome the issue with the groove.

It might be a little early but Peacock Ind. is working on  parts for the Ensign and they are in the development stages. I'm sure they will have those parts soon.

Hi Ward,

You can just get a stop to keep the gooseneck from sliding below a fixed point. I bought this one: "Davis Instruments Round Sail Track Stop - 2350". Just Google that term and you'll find several options. I bought mine from Defender and it works well.

If the origanol stuff is still working you can simply drill a hole thru the mast and round slug to hold it at a fixed height. I think i used a 3/16 Clevis pin of the correct length. Secured with a ring ding. Very simply to remove boom for travel.

On my boat,   The mast portion of the slug is still in fine shape after all these years, but the u  shaped part that attaches to the boom went bad. I made a new one with square aluminum ,  a drill press, and a lot of hack sawing. It is  twice as strong as the origal. I think it was made from 1 inch square aluminum stock, maybe bigger

We have several boats at NBYC that need to covert to fixed goosenecks rather than the standard sliding type gooseneck Can anyone direct me to the appropriate hardware and source for the hardware?
