Ooooweee we have been sailing 1149 “Puffin” in the Tolomato River here in Saint Augustine. I have held a few 101 Basic keel boat classes aboard.What a fantastic design, so pretty and stable. What a joy to sail

1149 was entered to race during Saint Augustine race week.This is PHRF racing and rating was 271.The crew were novice racers with a few sessions of practice under their belts.the winds were gusting to twenty and the current was about three knots opposing.1149 Puffin took third place both days inshore,first place going to a beautiful Hood 34 and second to a Catalina 22 with a swing keel. Both of these boats were sailed flawlessly. The team hopes to up their game for the up coming “Lady Bug Race “
